Hair Transplant in Turkey

A hair transplant moves healthy hair follicles from the back and sides of your head to areas where hair has thinned, such as the hairline or crown. At Hair in Istanbul, a doctor-led team plans each treatment around your donor area and goals, and implants grafts with the DHI technique for a natural, permanent result.

What we treat

Hairline, crown and full restoration

Hairline restoration

A receding or uneven hairline is the most common reason patients contact us. Your doctor designs a hairline that suits your face shape and age, with single-hair grafts at the front edge so it looks soft rather than sharp.

Crown restoration

Hair at the crown grows in a spiral. Grafts are placed to follow that whorl so the crown looks natural from every angle. Because crown loss can progress, we plan conservatively and keep donor reserve for the future.

Full and combined restoration

When the front, mid-scalp and crown are all thinning, we prioritise the areas that frame your face first. Larger restorations may be planned over two sessions to protect your donor area.

How it works

Your hair transplant, step by step

  1. Free online assessment

Send photos of the front, top, crown and back of your head. Our team reviews your hair loss and donor area and answers your questions.

  2. Your personal plan

You receive a written plan with the technique, an estimated graft range and a clear quote showing what is included.

  3. Design and preparation

On the day, your doctor examines you, designs the hairline with you and confirms the final plan before anything begins.

  4. Extraction and DHI implantation

Under local anaesthesia, follicles are taken one by one from the donor area and implanted with an implanter pen at the planned angle and depth.

  5. Aftercare and follow-up

Your first wash takes place at the clinic. You fly home with written instructions, and we follow your progress for 12 months.

Planning

How many grafts do you need?

Graft numbers depend on the size of the area, the density you want, the thickness of your hair and the capacity of your donor area. The ranges below are general guidance only. Your doctor confirms a safe number after an assessment.

AreaTypical graft range
Hairline refinementAbout 800 to 1,500
Full frontal hairlineAbout 1,500 to 2,500
CrownAbout 1,000 to 2,500
Front, mid-scalp and crown3,000 or more, sometimes over two sessions

Your donor area does not regrow, so protecting it matters as much as filling the thinning area. A careful plan always leaves reserve for the future.

Recovery

Safety

Risks and side effects

A hair transplant is a surgical procedure. Common, usually temporary effects include swelling, redness, small crusts, itching, temporary numbness and the shedding of existing hair near the treated area. Less often, follicles can become inflamed. Your doctor reviews your medical history and medication before treatment and explains how to reduce these risks. Contact us straight away if anything worries you during recovery.

FAQ

Hair transplant in Turkey: common questions

How much does a hair transplant in Turkey cost?

The cost depends on the number of grafts you need, the area treated and what is included in your package. After a free online assessment of your photos, you receive a personal written quote with everything that is included.

How many grafts will I need?

It depends on the size of the area, the density you want and how much donor hair you have. A hairline refinement may need under 1,500 grafts, while restoring the front and crown together often needs considerably more. Your doctor confirms a safe number after assessing your donor area.

Is a hair transplant painful?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia. Most patients feel the anaesthetic injections at the start and then little more than pressure. Mild soreness in the first nights is usually managed with simple pain relief.

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?

Most international patients plan around three days: consultation and treatment, then the first check and wash at the clinic before flying home.

When can I go back to work?

Many people return to desk-based work within about a week. Redness and small crusts are visible for the first 7 to 10 days, so some patients prefer to take a little longer.

When will I see the final result?

Transplanted hairs usually shed in the first weeks. New growth starts at around 3 to 4 months, and the final result is generally visible after 12 to 18 months.

Is the result permanent?

Grafts are taken from the donor area at the back and sides of the head, which is generally resistant to pattern hair loss, so transplanted hair usually keeps growing long term. Your existing hair can still thin over time, which is why we plan with the future in mind.

Do you offer FUE?

Our clinic uses the DHI technique, implanting grafts with an implanter pen for precise control of angle and depth. Your doctor explains during the consultation why this approach suits your hair.
